kids on half term and running a business
I'm pretty sure there are tons of folks out there who've either been through this already or are right smack dab in the same boat as me.
So, here I am, fresh off starting my own little business, and bam! It's half term. It probably shouldn't have taken me by surprise but it did. Got me thinking, you know? What lessons can I snag from this upcoming week with the kids that might give me a leg up with my new start-up? And what's the secret sauce for juggling work and little ones running around when you're not cashing in a steady pay check anymore? what are your thoughts?
The Juggling Act: Running a business while the kids are on half term can feel like juggling flaming torches while balancing on a tightrope. It's all about finding that sweet spot between work and family time. Harder than it sounds that is for sure.
Master of Flexibility: You've now got the superpower of flexibility. Half term means shifting gears, maybe squeezing in some work during naptime or catching up after bedtime stories.
Little Helpers: If your kids are anything like mine they just love helping with everything. This half term isn't just playtime for my little one; it's a chance for me to recruit pint-sized assistants! Whether they're helping with simple tasks or just involving in small activities can be both fun and educational.
Networking in the Wild: Forget stuffy business meetings—half term events are where the real networking magic happens. Chatting with fellow parents while supervising a the playground antics? That's multitasking at its finest.
Remote Office, Anywhere: Who says you can't run a business from the beach? If your business allows remote work, half term might mean taking your laptop on a family adventure and squeezing in some work between sandcastles or ice-creams
Leading by Example: When you're rocking the parentpreneur life, it's not all about crunching the numbers and sealing deals - even though that is a big part of it. It's about showing your little ones first hand what it means to hustle hard and never give up.
Finally Roll with the Punches. We all know half term is going to throw some curveballs your way, but as a parent and a business owner, you're a pro at rolling with the punches. Tomorrow is another day.
